Getting started
Which cars does Voltidia support?
Fully supported: Renault 4, Renault 5, Scénic E-Tech, Master E-Tech and Alpine A290.
These are checked automatically the first time you sign in: Mégane E-Tech, Zoe (phase 1 and 2), Twingo electric and Dacia Spring.
If your car is not on the list, tell us the model and we will take a look.
How do I sign in?
Use the email and password of your Renault account. Voltidia sends them only to Renault's sign-in service, keeps your password in memory just for the duration of the sign-in and never saves it. Only a session token stays on your device, in the keychain.
If sign-in fails, check your email and password first. Password resets are done with Renault.
Do I need an account with Voltidia?
No. There is no Voltidia account and no server of ours. See the privacy policy.
Your data
Why is the data not real-time?
Everything comes from Renault's servers, so it is only as fresh as the last report your car sent. Voltidia refreshes when you open it, and in the background when iOS allows it.
What does the ≈ symbol mean?
Between two readings from the car, the Live Activity and the widgets show an estimate of how the charge is progressing. Estimated values are marked ≈, and they are replaced by the real figure at the next reading.
Why did I not get a notification during the night?
iOS limits what apps can do in the background, especially at night, unless the phone is charging. The notification can therefore arrive later than the event itself.
For the most reliable results, leave your iPhone on its charger overnight. Also check that notifications are allowed for Voltidia in iOS Settings, and that no Focus mode is silencing them.
Widgets, Live Activity and Apple Watch
How do widgets work?
Touch and hold the Home Screen, tap the + button and choose Voltidia. Widgets show your own car, with its render and color, and use a different layout while it charges. Between readings they show estimates, marked ≈. Widgets are part of Voltidia PRO.
The Live Activity does not appear. What can I check?
The Live Activity is part of Voltidia PRO and appears while the car is charging. Make sure Live Activities are allowed for Voltidia in iOS Settings. iOS also limits how long a Live Activity can stay on screen and how often it can be updated, so between readings it shows an estimate marked ≈.
How do I get Voltidia on my Apple Watch?
Install the watch app from the Watch app on your iPhone (My Watch, then Available Apps). The Apple Watch app has complications you can add to your watch face. Like everything else, its data is as fresh as the car's last report.
Charging schedules
How does Voltidia show my charging schedules?
Voltidia reads your schedules from the car and explains them: whether charging is manual or scheduled, on which days, and the time window when it matters.
Can I change my minimum and target charge levels?
Yes, on the cars that report them. Voltidia reads your minimum and target charge levels from the car and lets you change them in Settings. The new levels are sent when you close Settings, and confirmed by reading them back from the car.
What does “manual charging” mean?
When every schedule on the car is switched off, Voltidia shows manual charging. There is no schedule to wait for: the car charges when you plug in the cable.
iCloud, purchase and privacy
How does iCloud sync work?
Sync is optional. When it is on, your history and settings are stored in your own iCloud account so that your devices share them. We cannot see them: there is no server of ours in between.
Is the purchase a subscription?
No. Voltidia is free to use for the charge indicator, notifications and the current month. Voltidia PRO, a one-time purchase, unlocks full statistics and history, the monthly report, the energy forecast, widgets, Live Activity, the stations map and trip planning.
How do I restore my purchase?
Open a locked feature in the app, such as the Map tab, and tap Restore Purchase. The purchase is tied to your Apple Account, so use the same Apple Account you bought it with. If it still does not work, contact us.
What data does Voltidia collect?
None. There is no account with us, no analytics, no tracking and no ads. The app talks only to the services it needs to work (Renault, weather and charging station services, Apple). Details in the privacy policy.
How do I delete my data?
Deleting the app removes the data stored on your device. Signing out inside the app removes your session token. If you turned on iCloud sync, you can remove the synced data in iOS Settings, under your name, iCloud, Manage Account Storage.
Is Voltidia made by Renault?
No. Voltidia is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Renault. See the disclaimer.
